Health Science Technology Course Offerings:
Health Science Education: This course will include basic health care information on services/products related to the health of people or animals. Subject matter will include career choices, skill development, and application of health concepts relative to becoming a health care professional.
Rehabilitative Therapy: The student will learn to differentiate between therapeutic career options, diagram human structure and describe human functions, organize and assess patient history, and apply appropriate mullet-disciplinary therapies for medical conditions.
Medical Therapeutics: this course introduces students to the various careers available in the field of nursing. Basic skills used in the field are studied. Students learn how to take blook pressure, take body temperatures, and other patient health measurements. An overview of basic anatomy and physiology is also taught.
Clinical Internship - Shadowing: this class gives students the opportunity to actually work in the field of health care by being with other health care professionals, shodowing, as they perform their job responsibilities. A knowledge of CPR and universal precautions is required and must be demonstrated before participation in clinical experience.
