JCHS Chorus and Drama Notes

1.  Chorus Club meets on Monday afternoons from 3:15-4:30.  This is open to any student who likes to sing.

2.  5 students are going to audition for All-East Choir on October 3, 2009 in Maryville, TN.  This is the first time any student has participated from Johnson County so we are very excited.  If they make All-East Choir, they will be eligible to audition for All-State to be held in April of 2010 in Nashville, TN.  Wish them luck!!!

3.  Drama Club meets on Wednesday afternoons from 3:15-4:30.  This is also open to any student who like to sing, dance and act.  This group will perform a Broadway Revue at the end of the year.

4.  Drama and Chorus members are working on a production for the Cranberry Festival in Shady Valley on October 10th.  This will be our rendition of "The Porter Wagoner Show."  The show will feature many of the old time country singers of the 60s and 70s.  This is a fundraiser for the Choir/Drama Department and we hope this will be an annual event.

5.  JCHS Choir will team up with a selected group of students from Mountain City Elementary to perform a "Singing Christmas Tree" in early December.

6.  The JCHS Drama Department will present two productions this year.  The 9th grade drama class will be performing a set of small skits called "Stocking Stuffers" for the Middle School and parents in the Little Theater and the 10th-12th grade drama class will perform "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" at Heritage Hall" on December 12th and 13th.
